How to prepare for Hack With Infy 2020

HackWithInfy is India-wide coding competition organize by Infosys for final year engineering students. For this year, HackWithInfy 2020 is being organized for 2021 passing out engineering students.

There are 3 rounds in HackWithInfy.

  1. Round 1 - Online contest
  2. Round 2 - Online contest
  3. Round 3 - Grand Finale a 24-hour hackathon at Infosys Pune

100 finalists from Round 2 will be invited to Grand Finale and they will get a pre-placement opportunity for the Power Programmer role at InfoSys.

In this article, I'll talk about some of the strategies to crack HackwithInfy.

HackWithInfy is all about, coming with an efficient solution for a given problem statement.

Both Round 1 and Round 2 of HackWithInfy consists of 3 coding problems. There is no particular syllabus for it, but here is the list of topics from which most of the times questions are asked.

  • Dynamic Programming
  • Greedy Algorithms
  • Backtracking
  • Stack
  • Queue
  • Mapping Concepts
  • Array manipulation
  • String manipulation
  • Tree
  • Graph

In order to do the preparation, I'd recommed you to practice coding problems from all these topics on coding sites.

With that being clear, Here goes your to-do list for preparation:

1. Be really fast at typing code.

Yes, that's correct. The faster you code, the more time you have to change your approach and re-solve, if it fails.

2. Know all the tricks and tweaks of your coding language.

Coding language can make a huge differene. Rather than, spending time on google out small stuffs, its good to know things before hand.

3. Practice, Practice and Practice.

Regularly brush up your problem solving skills. This will keep you updated with small things, which you encouter during contest, like handing arrays, implementing dp, breaking down problem etc.

Hopefully this will help you in your preparation.

In last, if your preparing for it, do join this awesome group of learners like you.
